About me

Hello there, Friend, Acquaintance, Stranger.
I thought writing the About me page would be the easiest part of this blog and take me less than 5 minutes, because really, how hard can it be, writing a couple lines about the topic I know best, which is myself? But the more I think about it, the more I try to summarize this complex human consciousness that is my SELF, the more I begin to wonder…who AM I?? How do I want to present myself to the world? What box am I willing to put myself into? How do I summarize the essence of what it means to be this specific continuously evolving and changing human called Veronika?

…And so, the “easy” task of writing this page has turned into an existential crisis. Great! But I’ll do my best to give you a glimpse into who I am—at least for now, because, spoiler alert, I’m a work in progress.
My name Veronika, a mix of a Hungarian, relentlessly optimistic, bird-watching, book devouring, green thumbed mother, and a Norwegian, infinitely wise, motorbike riding, ski-jumping, music aficionado father. I’ve also spent time in England, where I learned to appreciate both rainy days and good sarcasm. Now, I’ve been living in Italy for 10 years, a place where I’ve lived all of my twenties so far, and a place I have learned to call home.
Creativity is my lifeline. Whether I’m writing, painting, taking photos, or attempting (and occasionally succeeding) to bake something impressive, these outlets have become my way of exploring the world and my own mind. Baking and painting especially have this magical ability to bring joy—not just to me, but to others too.
On a more personal note, I’m passionate about mental health and personal growth. Life in my late 20s has come with its fair share of twists, turns, and moments of, “wait, what the f- am I actually doing?”—and I’m all about being open and honest about that. I also made the decision to embrace sobriety, and it’s been a journey to say the least. That of self-discovery, self-determination, sacrifice, inner turmoil and ultimately, empowerment.
Life is weird, messy, and beautiful, and I’m here to share all of it—the good, the bad, and the awkward.
So, welcome! Whether you’re here for some creative inspiration, a bit of real talk about life and mental health, or just want to laugh at my attempts at being an adult, I hope this little corner of the internet brings a smile to your face.
Love, V
